I smile to keep to keep the tears at bay,

And show the world, the pain doesn’t own me.

I laugh and joke and tease with them,

And all the while I hope they don’t look to close.

I spend the day in boastful joy, pretending for the ones I love,

Only to let the tears out at night, out of sight….

…..And readies myself for the coming day, to smile again.
